Fafforama

Spent most of today boardgaming with friends and then a break for dinner followed by an abortive attempt to go bowling followed by more boardgaming. All in all, a pleasant day marred only by my continuous Baron Silas Greenback impressions.

Drunk at 6am

I am. It's not my fault. It's an accident. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Spent the day in bed 'til 5.55pm with a heavy cold. This seemed to do the job and I went out for the evening. However, this meant that I had to skip the Friday Fitness Session. I'll have to improve on this at the weekend in order to keep up my three times a week promise to myself.

After the night out I spent the wee small hours talking with Agent Grey about the various strategies one could use in MOO2. It's amazing what things gamers can talk about at 4am!

Boiler Water Tastes Yucky

It really does. Those boilers I mentioned yesterday leaked all through the night. This morning when I arrived I discovered they used a large bin to collect the water overnight. Unfortunately, the bin was placed so that you couldn't remove it from it's drip catching position without spilling it all over the floor and defeating the object of the exercise. Cue me, one length of tube and a smaller bucket. Yuck. I probably have a case of dysentery now on top of this nasty cold that seems to be developing. I thought that exercise was meant to make you healthier. On a related note, I weighed myself yesterday and found that I had lost approximately one stone since Christmas. This healthy living seems to have some dividends.

It Never Rains, but it Pours

No luck for me today if I wanted a quiet afternoon. Imagine an 1800 seater bingo club catering generally to the older segment of society. In winter. Centrally heated and providing hot food and drink. Now take away the gas supply. That's right, not a pretty picture. It took me 4 hours to get that up and running today and when I did, the boiler couldn't handle the start up pressure so there was water, hot water, coming through the ceiling as the builders thought that the overflow pipe didn't need to go outside, just point it at the floor. Go figure.

Free for Another Month

Thank the stars that's over. Mage is finished with for another month and in future I won't have to worry about the admin side of things. Really Big Guy has offered to do all of it and if it means that I don't have to deal with the wankers up the chain then that's fine by me. Huzzah! This means that all I have to do is supply the plots until the whole WOD blows up in a few months. With any luck it'll get replaced by something that makes a good bit more sense.

In fitness news, I still hurt quite a bit from yesterday. I think I may have strained some sort of groin muscle and it's making me limp a bit. Gods alone know why just the right hand side. Go figure. I don't intend to let this put me off, however, and I'll be going again tomorrow.

Highs and Lows

Work, then lunch. Not a bad day, especially as it's Tuesday and so lunch was with 'Muffin and Agent Grey. One good meal with pleasant company in The Counting House in Dundee later we went to Waterstones to browse. Obviously the Waterstones management is getting a bit picky about the books it has on display. Normally I don't look at the major book franchises much but I could find only one Star Trek and one Star Wars novel and none of any of the others like Dr. Who. I'll just have to get my New Jedi Order fix from Ottakars from now on.

Yaaay, I'm a Lla...,a Gamer Again!

Games started again tonight after the Christmas drought. Started back with my Monday night GMing Lord of the Rings. Only three out of six turned up though and that annoys me. Oh well, maber better luck next week. Tomorrow I GM Mage LARP. That annoys me too. I think I'll cash in my chips on that one and wait for a new Mage game to kick in.

Tremors

I've got them. Tremors. The shakes, that is.

I can barely type, my hands are quivering that badly. I've just come from a full work out at the gym and I'm seriously knackered. I hope this is going to do me some good in the long run, 'cause in the short run it's gonna kill me!

Do Gamers Dream of Loaded Dice?

It is now 5.04am. As you can see I'm awake. This sucks big time. I have many things to do today and sleep would help. I don't even have my usual excuse of having slept all the way through Sunday. This is nuts. I think I'll have to give up on the notion and try again this afternoon.

Friendlies

We started the Bloodbowl season again today with a couple of opening friendlies. I took the High Elves this time as a dramatic change from the Norse team I played last season. Feanor's Fighters may become a major force this time as the beat Socialite's undead Coffin Dodgers 3-1. Huzzah for me! This season we've gained a replacement player and swapped the Morose Munchkin for Young Blood. Agent Grey still has to choose a team as he's waiting to see what Laid Back Guy is going to play. In other Bloodbowl news, Chocolate Muffin lost her game against Young Blood 2-1. No luck for the Ra-Ra Scary Monsters in their opening game.

I must confess to being a bit sad about naming my players. Everyone of them is a major Noldor elf of the first age. Woe betide anyone who has the ball. I've told them there's a Silmaril inside it!

Tomorrow I'm off to book rooms for DURPS as this years gaming gets underway. 9am sharp at the Student Union. Afterwards, in keeping with my new man plan, I'm off to the gym again. Despite yesterday's pain, I'm still up for it.
