Pain

I ache. Quite a bit. In bits that were never meant to ache. I suppose that means that yesterday's exercise is working. It's not enough to stop me attending on my designated days, but I could do without it.

Huzzah!

I am now about 0.01% fitter. I've been inducted into the great Cult of the Fit Person they even give you a card and everything! I have learned how the various machines work and I even worked up a sweat! How cool is that?

Depending now on how much I ache tomorrow, I'll be back on Monday.

Technical difficulties

Good job I didn't wait, the system is still down. I'm going to have to ring tomorrow morning to book my induction.

Damn...

The Return of the Wuss...

I returned to the Olympia today to attempt to start that fitness regime again. This time I managed to overcome my fear of all things sporty and made it as far as the ticket window.
"How do I go about starting?" I asked. "It's my first time in the building." A small lie here to cover up my ineptitude and act as a salve to my ego.
"You need to book an appointment at one of our first-timer courses, but the computer's down at the moment so I can't do that right now," was the apologetic reply. "If you want to wait, it may be sorted within the half hour."
I indicated the negative and inquired if I could 'phone book an appointment. Getting a positive response, I thanked them for their time and went home.
I'll give the Olympia a ring at about half past five and book for Friday. I'll get there yet!
Not only the fitness thing at the sports center, but also healthy cooking! For the first time ever I made food from base ingredients yesterday! All right, it was a vegetable soup but I feel good about this significant achievement in my lifestyle. With a bit more practice I may no longer be reliant on just heating up insta-food which I am assured will be healthier for me.

Meanwhile below decks, the crew was unhappy and the unspoken word was mutiny...

A bit dramatic, I know, but that's the way things are at work. On my department morale is at an all time low and lists of demands are currently being drawn up for management. If something isn't done soon there'll be folk walkin' the plank, mark my words.

Abandon all hope...

...All ye who enter here. Or at least that's how I felt when I arrived at the Olympia Leisure Centre. It looked grim and foreboding and that was just inside at the reception. I could feel am lazy chromosomes vibrating in antipathy to the resonance of all those fit people who were deeper within this fortress of fit.

I panicked. Instead of asking for the details I wanted, I looked around "nonchalantly" for a few moments and then bolted, snatching a leaflet about times and prices as I fled. Talk about wussy. However, I shall not be defeated. I shall return on the morrow, sports bag in hand and attempt to become fit and not get laughed at too badly.

Finally

Not only do I have to fight the Ubergeek for access to the 'phoneline but also the flatmate's Ex as well. This is swiftly becoming intolerable. I'm going to have to get my own line for me only soon. I saw an advert in "The Sunday Times" yesterday for a company offering Broadband for the same price as my freeserve account. I'll be looking into Tiscali later today and I'll be letting you know how that turns out.

Yesterday was cool. Spent the day playing an out of print ccg, Babylon 5. I lost, but what can you expect when the deck is constructed of members of the galactic equivalent of the BNP.

Today, after this post I'm finally getting ma ass in gear and going to the local sports centre to find out about using their gym. I've been threatening this for about the last two years but now I've decided that I WILL DO IT. I intend to go three times a week, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays as these days interfere least with my gaming activities and are also nicely spaced out. Unlike Choclatemuffin's attempt to go kickboxing yesterday I hope that apathy will not set in. It's a close run thing, however, I meant to go there at about 10am this morning, but kept putting off getting up today and now it's 3pm. I'll let you know how this pans out as well too.

Gone, but not forgotten...

Well, she left 15mins ago. Apparently, he brother decided that staying the night in her flat would be a good idea. Couldn't agree more.

Taking advantage...Or Liberties?

What the Devil is all this about??

My good friend and flatmate Neil has an Ex. She has a key and treats this place as her own. He works nights. She's just arrived with her brother in tow to spend the night.

WHAT THE ^%$$(&_)&$????????

Why do I have to put up with this?

Stubbornness prevails

I've just spent half an hour in an attempt to post. No access granted to my Blogg as my username/password wasn't working.

However, repeated attempts and sheer bloodymindedness soon paid off!

Huzzah!

Tonight was a very enjoyable night of faff. Several friends all gathered around the idiot box debating the "Greatest Ever British Sitcom". My vote will go to "Yes Minister" however amongst my co-faffers "Blackadder" is making a strong showing. All of it's academic however, as we all believe that at the end of the ten weeks "Only Fools and Horses" will be the winner.

Ah well, it's the vote that counts...
