Ye Gods but I'm crap...

Almost a month since my last post. Apathy, thy name is SixFoot Hobbit.

What have I done since last time? Bugger all, really. That's what apathy means. I've been drunk a couple of times, went to a birthday/anniversary combo. Insulted a friend, crawled and apologized later (sorry again, Cool Car Guy)and faffed about.

But now my apathy is at an end. I have goals and everything. I've decided to leave my job at the font of all tedium. Actually, I decided that about six and a half years ago but...*sigh*...apathy. However, one needs incentive (beyond poor pay, the general public and colleagues with either the I.Q. of a doughnut or the managerial talents of Stalin) and so I have decided that if I can't find a new job or at least an interview by the end of the month I'll shoot myself. Drastic, I know, but necessary. I know me. Abject terror is the only thing that'll get me moving (I hope).

In other non-apathy news, today, Sunday, was a triumph of hope over experience. The LSFIAF movie is gathering much momentum. Many of the principals were in attendance today for script, costume and prop discussions. It may be that the damn thing will get made! Huzzah! The only fly in the ointment? I have no directly applied talent for the project. It's stunning how many talented, organized people I know. Everyone who was there today had something cogent to say on the project or had moved ahead and applied skill to props or costumes. Many, many thanks to the Slacker (Director, Writer, Story Boards Producer), Chocolate Muffin (Costumes, Prodder-in-Chief, Accounts, Catering), Dirty Fairy(Costumes), Mystery Girl(costumes, Concept Art), Agent Grey(Props R'n'D and Implementation) and Rules Monkey (Heroic Lead, Choreography). I made tea and asked questions. Apparently my job is to decide if x is Star Wars where x is script, prop costume or whatever. Would that be continuity? I don't know. I do know that this afternoon I had the strange combination of feeling both useless and pride. Useless because I have been about as much use to the endeavor as a bicycle is to a fish and pride because all these cool people are my friends. Cheers guys!
